We understand that the cost of certification can be prohibitive to the small producer and that is why we have initiated the Small Farms Program.  We all have to start somewhere and Humane Choice is all about encouraging true free range production.

Your Humane Choice certification will also cover food safety requirements for pigs and eggs.

To be eligible for the Small Farms Program we have applied the  following maximum numbers to the different species of farm animals.  You may have a combination of these animals if they are all located on the one property.

100 Sows
500 Breeding Ewes
200 Breeding Cattle
5,000 Layer Hens
5,000 Meat Birds

Humane Choice subsidizes the cost of your initial audit and all you pay is a flat rate of $880 for 12 months certification.  Re certification will be charged at $880 pa.

Humane Choice does not charge a percentage of your sales.
